Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It took me about an hour once I marked where to drill mounting holes on the underneath side of the wing base and installed the bolts provided with the wing.

I know how to park a car for the winter, but I was looking for alternatives to carpet since I'm running into problems sourcing scraps.

the original stock retractable spoiler was already removed and I was replacing a different fixed wing.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Car is put up for the winter, but that didn't stop me from installing a GT3 tail on my 996. Should provide sufficient downforce for the occasional track day. Here are some pics:
Nice! What did you put under the tires to prevent flatspotting while in storage? I can't find any carpet squares and was thinking of cardboard, but don't know if that will really do anything.
Seriously? Just go to a carpet/flooring store and ask for a carpet remnant. Then cut it into four squares.
I pump the tires up to 50 lbs, and sitting on a piece of carpet usually prevents or minimizes flatspots in the Spring. If they do get a little flatspot, just drive it in warm conditions and the tires will get round again after a few miles.
I
highly
recommend the front splitter as well. First track day you will quickly find out why.
It's a fairly simple process and there are good videos out there.
I've been to couple of carpet stores already asking for scraps. They all told me they are thrown away at the construction site. BS. I know how to park a car for the winter, but I was looking for alternatives to carpet since I'm running into problems sourcing scraps.
Just go to Toys R Us and get some foam pads for kids play areas. However, pumping the tires up works just as well. A carpet won't do anything really, but a piece of foam insulation might. Either way, after a heat cycle or two they will go back to be round anyways so I don't worry much about this.
Nice wing by the way. Saw one on a car like yours locally.
Looks great! Do you have any photos from the underside where it bolts on? How hard was the prep and install? I was considering this wing and company. Thanks
I didn't take any pics of the underside of the lid, but it was a
very
simple installation. It took me about an hour once I marked where to drill mounting holes on the underneath side of the wing base and installed the bolts provided with the wing. There were four bolts on the "front" edge of the lid (nearest the rear glass) and six or seven bolts across the back edge. It utilizes the existing holes in the stock factory grill lid. Regarding prep, I had a local body shop prep and paint it. They did a perfect job.
If you're even moderately competent with basic hand tools, you shouldn't have any trouble.
NOTE:
the original stock retractable spoiler was already removed and I was replacing a different fixed wing. If you have to start from scratch, it will take longer than the one-hour to install the new wing.
