Suggestion

If not, it is surprising how deep a scratch can be gotten out- I watched a professional detailer (with some concern) setting about a deep scratch on the bonnet of my car with ultrafine wetn'dry, then polished it up good as new.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All I have a few small scuffs/scratches that need touching up on my black C4S. The scuffs are too far gone to be polished out, so paintwork is needed but don't want to go down the road of a complete respray - £700 + VAT quoted for two panels @ OPC!!! Has anyone in the Yorkshire area used anyone to repair minor scratches on their 996? Those of you outside the Yorkshire area do you know of any reputable franchise that does this sort of thing? Cheers Cookie

POST 2Original post

Look up G at Elite Detailing on this forum. He's reckoned to be one of the best detailers in the country (covered Reventons, Enzos, Veyrons and the like). I think he has pics of a black 996 C4S on his website. ~ Maxie

POST 3Original post

Are the scratches through to the primer? If not, it is surprising how deep a scratch can be gotten out- I watched a professional detailer (with some concern) setting about a deep scratch on the bonnet of my car with ultrafine wetn'dry, then polished it up good as new. If not, I'd suggest speaking to one of your local indies, and see who they'd recommend.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the advice. I'm afraid it is down to the primer, so I'll be getting in touch with a 'Scratch & Dent Master' to see what they can do - will let you know. Just been looking at G's detailing service - this bloke sounds like a magician!! I'll probably get him over for a full valet in the Spring. Thanks again for your responses Cookie
