The PCM2 that is on Ebay is the one that I tried in my non-Bose Cayman-S and did not work. So just a fellow warning to others on planet-9.com- do NOT buy this unit in hopes of it working in a non-Bose car. We spent over 4 hours trying to code it with the PIWIS to no avail. I can't comment whether it would work on a Bose car.

mmm, I might be tempted to see if would be ok on my Bose CS... my only regret with my Cayman is not getting PCM, not for the Sat Nav as such but I miss all the MP3 files on a single CD.

is PCM2 the one used for 996 and 986? I saw a few of those listed on ebay and figured those won't work on our cars. But if not, I'd be willing to purchase your PCM2 for 997 from you to try on my bose equipped car. Hey. The only PCM's that have been on the US Ebay recently are from either 996's or 986's and are marked as so and these will not work with the 997/987. Even if they aren't marked as the previous generational models they are easily distinguished from the latest models by the black casing and buttons rounder styling. G.
