One of the reasons my wife didn't want to get the Prosche was that it didn't have XM radio. We have it in our M35 and she loves it. So, I was wondering about adding it so it is either hidden (glove box??) or looks integral to the console.
Any help/pics would be appreciated.
Ole Joe
Assume you did a search before asking but this one may have been missed.

XMcommander uses wired FM. Fits in the cubbyhole. Works group ... about $275 installed.
See the pic in the Draft aftermarket FAQ above
Santa Fe:
No, I didn't do a search. I'm too excited about getting the car I forgot. (visualize Steve Martin doing his "How to make a million dollars and not pay taxes" routine).
I have now.
And there's lots there.
Sorry. Feeling like a kid in school getting caught kissing the girls - it was worth it!
Ole Joe (who, btw, is much younger now!)
Has anyone heard anything about timing on the integrated solution for XM? "Integrated solution" meaning that Porsche dealers will be able to hardwire XM into the Cayman.
I asked my dealer in December about my satellite radio options and he said, "They are working on an XM install. Should be coming soon".
It already exists as a plug-in module for the Cayeene and has been done on Caymans. Big bucks ... See Suncoast.
Awesome! I'm totally gonna ditch the xm commander for this.
Hey Joe, I had the XM Commander installed 3 weeks ago with Ipod, works great. You do have to have PCM, works through the CD. You press the cd button, then station 6, and there it is XM. The Commander unit fits below the radio on the shelf and looks like it was always there. The Commander unit comes with remote to change cahnnels or you can preset channels. The Ipod connection is in the glovebox. The system used was NavTv. Good luck.
Thanks, but I dont have PCM. I'll be stuck with the FM modulation thingy.
But, it should work as we get good reception in Houston.
Thanks for the help!
Ole Joe
Joe, don't forget that you can get the dension solution (for $500), then run a direct wire from the xm device into it. That would give you a straight connection and the ability to use an iPod.
I also think that the Dension is your best bet.
