Then I noticed it also refers to "all wheel final drive: change oil" on the 12yr/120k for 991's.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi All,
I searched but could not find an answer about this. When Porsche is talking about the "all wheel drive controller oil" needing replaced at 6yr/60k I'm assuming they are talking about the transfer case fluid. However when I was looking at the 60k service procedures it appeared that it was describing the front diff oil. The front diff oil isn't supposed to be done until 12yr/120k according to the maintenance schedule though. Then I noticed it also refers to "all wheel final drive: change oil" on the 12yr/120k for 991's.
Can anyone confirm that the "all wheel drive controller" is the transfer case, and that the "all wheel final drive" is the front diff???
Apparently there are two fluids in the front differential of the 997.2 C4 (and perhaps other models). One fluid is Porsche p/n 00004330300 which is a 75w80 lube. I have only found as Porsche branded at like $60 per liter. I guess it is not the same as the differential fluid you can find more commonly but which is 75w-90 and much less expensive.
So, 00004330300 is used for the AWD Controller Oil and is changed every 60K miles or 6 years.
The other fluid is the "differential" oil which is changed every 120K miles or 12 years.
Now all I need is a how-to for the AWD controller fluid change. Anyone, Anyone... Bueller. Dealer quoting around $450 for the change. I think it is just a couple of bolts.
