Just wanted to share you my custom transformation my
06 cayman s
to
981
gt4
And changed my door handle to
gt3
rs
Looks great, but I’m not a fan of using the wrong badge, lose the “
GT4
!”
I agree. Don't represent the car for something it isn't.
Have you dropped a 3.8L in there yet?
Fun project, and looks nicely done.
GT4
on the rear and wheels is a tad cheesy IMO.
It's a very well done modification/conversion, and the only opinion that matters is yours. I do agree with others who opined that you shouldn't represent it as a
GT4
-- because it isn't one. May you enjoy many miles of smiles driving your unique automobile.

GOOD GOOGLY MOOGLY that detail...i can feel the amount of work put in
where did you source that bumper?
love your passion for modifying the car.... looks like a
cayman
for all generations....
hope you get to drive it more now that its ready!
btw did you have to change a lot to change the rear lights?
Thank you.. Well i changed the bumper for sure and wiring extensions only same
ecu
nothing changed so far
Come up with a new name
Boxster S
something maybe SR or S2
What kit did you buy to get the rear look and light of the
981
?
very nice conversion BTW.
Hi BoxsterS, I’m really interested in updating the look of my
cayman 987.2
, specially adding the rear lights. Can you tell me please if the oem rear bumper of the
981
does the job? Or please can you share more information of where did you buy all your parts or how should I do it? Thanks!!!
How was this done? How different are the mounting
points
/bootlid? I'd like some info on the work. Thanks a lot

I wouldn't necessarily expect a reply from BoxsterS - he hasn't been on the forum in over 3 years. My WAG is he's moved on from the Porsche he had when he was posting here regularly.
You may want to start a thread of your own here in this forum - with a very detailed title (year/model/what you want to do) - it might attract the eyes of someone who can help you.
Meanwhile - please visit

- read some of the stickies at the top of the listing - then add your own introductory message, and perhaps some pictures of your cars. People love seeing other people's cars, especially if you've modified it a bit.
Welcome to Planet-9, the Friendly Porsche Forum..
It looks good, do what you want with your car, but I agree the false badge has to go.
I think it's very nicely done. but I would lose the
GT4
badge. That's just bad form. of course it's really not any different than the
Mustang
crowd building GT350 clones. I would say it's for fun and you're not trying to fool anyone except for the fools on the highway lol.
I would love to install that bumper on my 987. where did you get it? is it aftermarket or did you get a body shop to fit a real front bumper on your car?
