I was thinking of having it checked near the end of the warranty then getting Stratstones to correct any problems.

I would get the Porsche 111 point check, get stratstone to put right anything that is found and slap a Porsche warranty on it straight away.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I asked on Pistonheads but i find this forum friendlier so will post here. I am currently looking at a 2002 turbo. It has 15k miles and lived in Jersey. I have got the price to 46000 from main dealer Stratstones. So opinions please. Also it has pcm1 is this a problem etc as not sure of difference.

POST 2Original post

Hi, So £46,000 for a 2002 996 TT with only 15K on the clock. Sounds pretty good to me. Also depends on spec, does it have alu pack, carbon fibre, alloy upgrades. PCM1 is pretty useless in my opinion but plenty of after market products out there and easy to install as pre Mostbus. Good colour combo's: Silver with metropole blue leather Seal grey with black leather. Blue with black leather. I would be cautious with some of the crazy interior blends out there ie green and although I like the red interior not eveyones cup of tea. Get an insepction done anyway. Sounds ok for the milage. Regards Alan

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Forgot to mention colour. It's black with black leather. It has phone and electric seats . (not sure if that is standard) What is the difference between pcm 1 and 2? It will have a 12 month stratstone warranty on it too.

POST 4Original post

a 15k TT for £46. Sounds very good. 8) PCM2 is a lot better than PCM1. better screen, maps, functionality. But as Alan said shouldn't be a dealbreaker IMO ( i have PCM1) PPI and Porsche warranty are a must, even with stratstone warranty

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So you wouldn't wait for the warranty period to end then get Porsche warranty? I was thinking of having it checked near the end of the warranty then getting Stratstones to correct any problems. Also if you have opc warranty can you still go to a specialist for servicing?

POST 7Original post

Thats a fab price. For a 2002 MY turbo with that mileage. Did see it (or a car very much like it) for sale on Autotrader or ebay last week I think if its the same car. (Private sale though). Comments along the lines of never thrashed 'cos it was on Jersey and a 40mph? speed limit. Offer to fly out to view ? There was one comment that I remembered 'cos didn't know and thought was interesting - was that there would be tax to pay if you brought it here permamntly - presumably that's all sorted if Stratsones are selling it? Also that it would have to be registered on a V5 but easy and cheap to do.

POST 8Original post

sounds like a steal at that price, would have expected to pay that for double the mileage. What condition is the car in?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Took it for an hour drive and it was perfect. They took it p/x on a Vantage. They reckon that was the p/x price as they want it off the forecourt.
