Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Install few months ago' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install few months ago' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have a 2012 2.9
PDK
without Sport or Sport+.
I know I can buy the switch panel and then have dealers pay way too much.
But I was wondering if I get the switch panel, is there a way to hack or self program Sport and/or Sport+?
No. It requires a VIN specific enabling code from
Porsche
Germany, that's transmitted via the
PIWIS
while it's connected to the computers in Germany.
One of those wanna-play, gotta-pay sort of things.
There have been reports of some Russian hackers who may have figured out some of the code algorithms for some options and claim to generate a code for the user. I would strongly hesitate to suggest them since they weren't exactly cheap from what I heard, nor reliable. People have reported paying and receiving nothing. And the people had no recourse since payment was in digital currency. I find it hard to imagine that being a good business model unless your business model is to be a crook.
I understand why
Porsche
needs to keep track.
They have to update the calculations for their CAFE numbers.
They have to also be able generate an emissions recall if one is ever needed.
N_Jay, it sucks to pay that much but it is absolutely transformational on the
pdk
car. I had it installed a few months ago. It's the best money I spent on mods for my 11 boxter base. I added a softronic tune a month later and it now it performs very well. I highly recommend.
Mind sharing what your dealer charged for the install? I bring my car to an independent, so is this the kind of thing that a dealer will just do for a non-established customer?
If I recall it was 450.00 for the installation. You buy the software and switch assembly from your dealer. Switch is specific to your Vin and based on stock switch in your car. The switch was installed in an hour and I had to return the
next
day for coding of ecu and
pdk
modules. The code had to come from Germany and it was 9 pm there. I don't think
Porsche
will send those codes to an Indy, but I'm not sure of that.
Do it. You won't be dissatisfied.
There are no deals.
It's worth the money if you want the extra out of the car.
Sadly, it should have come this way from factory.... but it didn't.
As said before, you have to pay for performance.

Actually, there's a caveat to your deal....
Become a PCA member for $45 and save 10% off parts and labor at the dealer.....

You'll find that if you give them money, most dealers will do whatever you want to be done to your car. It's sorta the service department's reason d'entre... I haven't had one yet that refused to do something I asked for. They may insist you buy the upgrade kit from them rather than Sunset
Porsche
.. but they'll install it if you pay them to.
