Is anyone making these Gauge Face covers/overlays anymore? The
Suncoast
ones seem quite pricey for what it is, but I'm not seeing many other options besides a few eBay ones with bad feedback :/
Carbone out of Poland makes high quality stuff.
Custom - Gauge faces set – for 987 (2005-2012)
Installation and disassembly of discs should be performed by qualified personnel. Self-attempt without the appropriate skills may end up damaging the clock, for which we are not responsible.

Awesome, thank you for the reply. Much appreciated.
FVD Brombacher sells nice face gauges, but these are pricey as well..
Instrument Face Set 987.1 - 3.2 L / 3.4 L - Silver - Manual - KPH - 300 KPH
Instrument faces are one of the most visible and frequently looked at components in your Porsche. When making the decision to change them you want to...

Those are the ones I was considering. Just haven’t pulled the trigger. Anyone have experience with either company?

FVD Brombacher has been around for a long time, I believe Rhonda is the lady that runs the place great reputation but you pay for it..
I just ordered a gauge face from these guys:
Heiler Tachodesign - Autozubehör vom Profi
The price is very reasonable and I've heard good things. Haven't received it yet though.
Watching a video on how these are made/printed and I can see why they cost what they do. It's just one of things.
I think the cheapo ones off eBay would be a huge disappointment.
For those who don't speak German, I'd suggest:

Welcome to Planet-9, the Friendly Porsche Forum!
So I’m interested and reached out to Heiler. See below:

I’m still a bit confused on what exactly to order to get something that looks like this… anyone better at German than me (I can get by with directions, money, ordering food and bier!)?

I’ll be watching this thread intently, as I would love to replace my stock gauge discs on my ‘08 Boxster with the white background discs. Anyone having experience with parts swap, is it straightforward, simple enough to do yourself?
A link to Jeff’s

video.

I watched this video as well, and it is awesome! Step by step with great details, when I get my white face gauges I will be using it as a guidance as well, good luck!
I ordered Yellow faces with Black numbers from the German site.
Mine came in today. Looks great!:
There is one problem though… my Cayman is a 6-speed (my mistake 🤦♂️)
Anyone need one for their auto 987?
I looked at the site, so there's Tiptronic,
PDK
and Switch. Then of course 190 or 175. I did Switch 175 for my manual Base. Hope that's right!
Thanks. I guess I was think about the Heiler ones. There is an option there to buy White faces with White numbers or pay 10 Euro for colors. I'm not sure what that would look like.
Mine are done. I'll do a full write up with pics. It's a bit different steps than the videos on youtube for our 987s.

me too.. I tried to order but IT was confusing as I was not 100% sure that I would be ordering correctly..
As I need the White face,
PDK
, and 190 MPH (for
981 Cayman
S), so I didn't place the order :-(
Do you have the link for the
981
page? I can take a look.
Thank you for the kind offer, this is what I am looking for:

Thank you Jonley, I really appreciate your help!
Regards, Gilles
My white gauges finally arrived today! Now I am watching the JJRichard's videos and getting the courage to remove and disassemble the cluster, will share some pics afterwards. Thank you guys!
@Gilles
- take LOTS of pictures.. maybe we can add to the DIY on doing these..
Gilles, did you get yours from Heiler-Tachodesign? My car is a base model, which means my Speedo tops out at 175 mph, whereas the S tops out at 190 mph, but I can’t find anywhere in the ordering process to delineate which model for the fitment. The only options I see are choosing Fahrenheit/Celsius and MPH/ kmPH, but not for the speedo range, nor a selection for transmission type, since a Tiptronic would indicate the drive selection in the display. Was wondering how you navigated that.
You select the speed when you select the product on this page
Mph zu Kmh - Heiler-Tachodesign Accessories from the Professional
. You can also look at the picture and select one with 280 km/h on the face if the description is cut off on your phone. There are three options depending on what transmission you have:
With the assistance of the community and the posters and responders on this thread, I finally got around to placing my order for the replacement gauge face for my ‘08
Boxster
. Cant wait to install it. Thanks for the help.
Update to my Gauge Face replacement. After much confusion in attempting to order my new Speedo Gauge face from Heile-Tachodesign, I was finally able to navigate the German to English website. Filled out the order page, entered my form of payment, and noted the message they posted concerning their current move to a new facility and the ensuing delays that move would produce. Ok, I’m patient, so I awaited the day it would finally arrive. I have a link with the USPS which sends an email every day entailing which pieces of mail I would be receiving that day. Got a message indicating it was to be delivered that afternoon, after waiting nearly a month, YAY! Didn’t show.
Next
day, didn’t show. Started tracking it and it seemed to be bouncing around the mail system. After a trip to the local Post Office, they found it was misdelivered to a house around the corner, they retrieved it and finally I had the package in my hands. Couldn’t wait until I could start the installation. Opened the package and, lo and behold, they sent one for a Tiptronic instead of the Manual transmission application that I ordered, and the invoice indicated was supposed to be in my hands. I could not believe this turn of events and now I am tasked with attempting to navigate a return and replacement with a company that is difficult enough to communicate with. The saga goes on.
Ugh [emoji30]. Why is this so hard.

Update on the gauge face mod: I sent an email to Heiler-Tacho using Translate in the text tools, and received a reply within 24 hours apologizing for the inconvenience and stating that they will send a new one out to me. Great customer service. Can’t wait to see the finished work.
Sounds promising. Can you share the email address? Perhaps I can email them prior to ordering to ensure I get what I want.

WTFChuck, these gauge faces are for a
986
/987 models, unfortunately for the
981
only use the RPM and Speedometer, I miss the third one on the right as it makes it look more integrated.. On the
981
's the right gauge is replaced with a black digital display.. :-(
Yes. This thread is in the 987 sub forum. (I do have a
981
and May be interested in ordering from the vendor)
