Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

the price… you can run about 5psi and it’ll cost 10k and end up on a work bench with a hole in the block… not worth it… easier to install an actual turbo motor imo

Suggestion

I wonder if TPC would be willing to expose how many blowups that have occurred using their turbos systems.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 2Original post

Little confused on this one. Do you mean 987? Yes many have tho I wouldn’t advise with the high compression vs. the price… you can run about 5psi and it’ll cost 10k and end up on a work bench with a hole in the block… not worth it… easier to install an actual turbo motor imo

POST 3Original post

I wonder if TPC would be willing to expose how many blowups that have occurred using their turbos systems. If they could separate ring damage to the piston seats, bore scoring from too hot cylinder/piston skirt result, piston crown melt down and rod bearing damage, scaring from too hot oil. If they did this, we would have a lot less guys trying to prove history wrong ending up with metal fragments all over their oil filter and sump.

POST 4Original post

Lmao…. The very thought has crossed my mind many times… there already time bomb$… there is another kit some euro company put together.. twin turbo tho and of course, with a silly limit on boost. It’s just the worst money you could spend vs the hp return.. If you want a turbo cayman, find a TT motor out of a 996/997/991. Sell your n/a motor, apply that to the TT motor and do the headache once…. Well hopefully. Or just buy a TT 996/997. It wouldn’t cost much more by the time your done… I had a 996tt… fantastic car

POST 5Original post

Talk about fantastic, my neighbors son brought over his Turbo 991 4 with PCCB and white barrel wheels. He also upgraded the sound out the exhaust. No track though. He was very interested in my RE71RS as his first set of tires were almost gone. No brake dust as I was complaining about brake dust on my powder coated Black Chrome wheels. But just guessing those brakes and wheels are worth the value of my car.

POST 6Original post

Ya they don’t leave any mess… it’s pretty sweat! My 997 has those and the job cost way to much.. and ya, wheels and tires with those sizes… 8-10k easy

POST 7Original post

I'm looking for a PCCB setup on my lowly 987 on ebay to keep the dust away. Not for the track though.

POST 8Original post

It’s expensive but certainly better stopping power. I’m a silver wheel guy so regular brakes annoy the chit out me 😆
