Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Nice spec, apart from the lack of PCM/nav, but its got just about everything else! Not cheap mind, OPC money virtually.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

HAve done some bargining and also, managed to include OPC warranty.

POST 4Original post

These no good ?? http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=15398 http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=15088

POST 5Original post

that it top money for a C4S without PCM (but can be retofitted), not tempted by a 997 ? Autobahn are a sound dealership, mention 911uk to Lash and you may get a free smile !

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have thought about a 997, but ones in my price range tend to have had higher mileages and lower spec.

POST 7Original post

How many miles do you plan to do a year? If not many, a higher mileage car may be a good fit. Also, you'll take a lesser bath when it comes to resale. £49k for a non-PCM 996C4S is rich. Add 10k miles on that car, and come resale you'll be lucky to be bid £35k from a dealer.

POST 8Original post

Got to agree with Ade - it does seem pricey and will soon lose the premium on it with the low mileage. What sort of use will the car be getting?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Probably a maximum of 10k. Have lookd at higher mileages, thoughvarious examples, 46k, £40, 32K £44. Similar apec apart from Sat NAV, one without PSE.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Around a max of 10K a year. Though may decide to add a work horse to the stable and that woulod reduce miles. HAve looked at a few higher mileages, but £40k, 46000 miles, £44k and 32.000. HAve reduced the sticer price somewhat and OPC warranty now included. PS another question, how long do the average pair of B Discs last. Uerstand that is is dependant on sort of driving.

POST 11Original post

Hi, Definatley consider a higher mileage one for late £30K. Plenty of good examples out there. With the present financial climate you will take a hit at that price unless you have done some significant bartering. Discs/pads and tyres on a C4s can last 2 years with normal and some spirited driving, however if you are going to be a track demon then you will obviously go through them much quicker. Must have options for the C4S: Sports exhaust. Sports seats. Bi-xenon lights. (Although HIDS can be installed) Sport techno alloys. (note mine!!!) Personally I do not consider the PCM2 sat nav as a deal breaker. Plenty of better after market products out there. If pre-2003 then after market sat nav is easier to install 2003 onwards not impossible but you have to work around the Mostbus technology. Other options are down to choice but sun roof, parking sensors, cruise control are not something I was looking for. But more loaded the car is the better residuals. Regards Alan
