It has to be something that takes about 5-6 hours to change its properties and I can't think of anything like that except perhaps metal that gets very hot in use and then takes a long time to cool because it is surrounded by hot oil or something?

I still have some suspension vibration - but ONLY when first using the car after it has been left for overnight or longer!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Having just had a new track-rod end, tyre, wheel alignment, brakes, etc. I still have some suspension vibration - but ONLY when first using the car after it has been left for overnight or longer! As I've said before, I am an engineer by qualification, but have never come across this before... Feels like wheel balance, or similar, and only for the first journey after a night parked or longer. If I park for no more than a couple of hours, it's then fine :? :? :? :? Anyone got any ideas, as I'm stumped on this one... :?: :? :? :? :?

POST 3Original post

Wattie, the car's haunted. I'll do you a favour and take it off your hands for £1,000.00

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Seagull... You do know it's a kettle don't you? Damian, fronts are new, rears about 3-4 mm left. Can't see how that would affect it though? It has to be something that takes about 5-6 hours to change its properties and I can't think of anything like that except perhaps metal that gets very hot in use and then takes a long time to cool because it is surrounded by hot oil or something? But why would that then cause a vibration when it was cool and not when it was warm? Very strange...

POST 6Original post

Dodgy rubber, I had a pair of Michelins where one of them needed rebalancing constantly with wear.

POST 8Original post

try the handbrake seriously if it sticks it'll make the car shudder. when it gets hot it might loosen up come off.

POST 9Original post

My bridgestones RE55's did this all the time on my old car. The compound was such that you got flatspots when parked overnight. It took until they warmed up - 5-10 minutes for them to "round" up. The R888's do it a little to, but less noticeable. I'd put money on flat spotted tyres due to sitting in the one spot.
