Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On my 1999 996, I have a deviation reading of 6 degrees on bank 2. A recent article by Charles Navarro indicates that the "vario-cam wear pads" should be replaced when 6 degrees of deviation is exceeded. So in searching for the parts to do this on our host's catalog, I cannot find the part under that name. I think it must be p/n 996-105-165-55. Has anyone done this repair? And what is the part number that is needed? Thanks in advance.
