Any of our sponsors offering discounts on the Cayman short shifter? My dealer only offers the 10% PCA discount on the parts and charges 3 hours of labor to install @ $100/hr. Would there be enough interest to attempt a group buy?
SF - I remember reading that people were getting the kits from Brandywine and Suncoast for what sounded like good discounts... isn't there an independent shop in Santa Fe with a lower shop rate for installation?

Brandywine ran out of their SS kits. Bought my kit from local Dealer Roger Jobs, in Bellingham, Wa for $413.86 and they installed it and charged 1.5 hours. I talked to them about Brandywine's prices and they did their best, not $399 but close enough. I also got them to installed other items, here's a list with prices:
Privacy Screen $153.00 Install .3 hours
Dead Pedal $169.40 Install.7 hours
BMC air filter (my own) Install .8 hours
Santa Fe is too small and not enough Porshes around for an independent shop. I guess I should check some other places like Denver. My dealer wants $860 plus tax for the complete deal. Brother Brad has convinced me I need the short shifter.
Roger Jobs is a Premier Porsche dealer in Bellingham Washington, I live in Vancouver, BC and have the same problem you have. The dealer will discount 10% for parts & acc if you are a PCA member, big deal.Cars are even worst, no discount, full list. That's what i have to deal with, thus drove down to the States to buy & install Porsche stuff. I still use local to do Warranty work, but that's it. Iam awaiting Wheel Spacers from Roger Jobs, they should be in soon. $299.00 inclusive bolts & spacers Porsche Original. Shop around other dealers within your area, even a 4 hour drive is worth it.
Santa Fe you could always come visit me and while you are here have my local dealer do the install, although they can't come close to Brandywine on the parts price. Brandywine gets stuff in all the time, so does Suncoast so you might check to see what either has available.
When you get tired of waiting for you spacer package from Porsche, we will match that price with a far superior wheel bolt.

So am I the only one who is drinking Brad, Ken and others kool-aid regarding the need for the short shifter? Sponsors are you listening? Yes Boothe offers wheel spacers but I'm looking for a reasonable price on a shifter and installation. Calls to other dealers in the a.m. I suppose without the weight of a potential group buy.
Oh, Santa Fe -
Brother Brad is humbled by his powers of persuasion...

OK - weekend's over. Anyone call yet? (I'm on vacation - so lurking from a hotel room at night!)
