Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

My 2003 996 drivers side window auto drops correctly upon pulling the inside or outside door handle then it instantly pops back up while door is open upon release of door handle. Drivers side only, no battery issues. I'm thinking micro switch. Any suggestions for further diagnosis? Thanks in advance, Paul

Your problem is in the door open closed switch in the latch, It thinks the door is still closed. Your dome lights are probably immediately going off when the latch is released also. You have to replace the latch assembly as I do not think the switch is supplied separately.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

dgmark, I think you are correct and yes, the dome lights go out when latch is released and the door is still open. Thanks, Paul
