I was fortunate enough to get all of the service records (and even the original window sticker!) with my car so I decided to go through it this afternoon and see what I can find. I found that the previous owner had installed a short shift kit and PSE. Now I understand why the car sounds so damn good. I was thinking if this is the stock Porsche exhaust why would I want to change it? I also found that it was originally equipped with a cassette deck which explains why I have the holder on my console. I thought it was unusual that I had an in-dash CD player yet a storage compartment for cassettes. Finally I discovered that my engine wasn't immune to the RMS leak which was covered while still under warranty a couple of years ago. Thankfully that saves me two mods that I thought I'd have to perform on my own

You are really fortunate with these two "finds" especially with PSE. Did the OP install the wiring for the PSE or just the mufflers?

PM sent, thanks! The work order only shows installation of the mufflers. Plus I don't see any buttons signifying special wiring on my dash. I'm okay with that though, I couldn't think of a reason to quiet them down as even on the highway the sound is still quiet enough if I'm not pushing the car.

You certainly have the option of installing the wiring later if you want it. At times with the Cab, I do enjoy being able to quiet the muffler.

That may end up being the case for me once I get used to the car. But I have found that in normal cruising the car isn't that intrusive. Although remember I'm used to a 944 that had a plastic rear window so it tended to be pretty loud inside.
