Having owned my '06 for a little less than six months, I've recently driven it in colder (+/- 30F) weather and encountered a lot of squeeking noises coming from what appears to be the pillar behind the passenger door. Could this be an issue with the interior trim rubbing, etc? The squeeks are worse the colder it is and seem to disappear altogether when it is over 50F outside. Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a way to fix it? As mentioned in another posting, I tried removing the luggage privacy screen, but that had no effect on the noise. I'd really appreciate any help as the noise is really starting to grate on me!
cold weather squeak
I've noticed the same squeak in cold weather. I believe it is coming from the trim piece along the rear window opening (the one that runs from the roof line down to the bottom of the hatch on the driver's side). I took the car to a dealership and asked them to check it, but unfortunately it was in the 60s that day in December when I took it. I have tried pressing against that piece while I'm driving (a bit awkward) and have got the noice to stop (until I let go). I might try putting a small piece of foam behind it.
Well, I'm glad to hear other people have the same annoying squeak in the right rear! It's definitely a plastic to plastic sound. I bought tan 1/4" foam sheets and cut it into strips and placed it in between where the side plastic wall meets the deck lid portion, sometimes I think it's working then I get a road that's not the best and I hear it again. I had the trunk clunk fixed now it's this occasional plastic squeak. Being anal with my cars it's driving me wild. My wife says it's a sportscar not the luxo boats you used to drive! :burnout:
I had a small squeak coming from the gauge cluster surround in really frigid weather yesterday but I found a good smack fixed the problem...
I have the same squeak (drivers side) and have noticed it only on cold days; when the interior warms up after having the heater on a few minutes, the squeak disappears. I have also noticed if the driver's seatback is too far back it causes the squeak.
I dunno about you guys but I tend to squeak a lot more when the weather is cold so I figure all cars do to
Hi all
Just had the plastic trim replaced, around the side window and seat belt on
the left hand side my pasenger side, (US driving side) a long wait for the part
it was on back order from the factory, but now fitted and all is well and no more ratlles

Hi Guys, I have the same problem with the rattle from the driver’s rear. I have definitely isolated it to the trim around the rear hatch. I can't believe Porsche can use such cheap parts.
I have it as well and it sounds to me like plastic rubbing plastic. I even stuffed 1/4" foam I found at a hobby store almost the same color as sand beige between the two pieces to try to silence it but it hasn't worked. It's been so d_ _ cold in Ohio I really can't work on it even in the garage. I wondered if it was coming from the plastic trim around the rear hatch window, in my case it's only on the right side. I hate to say it but I'm all most excepting it at this point. If this noise had been in my last luxo boats I always drove, I being having a fit by now, but with the "sports car" I'm all most expecting it.
Same rattle from the left side rear....Sent it to the dealer twice, who promptly returned it saying he could'nt hear anything....Grrrrrrrr..........Most noticeale at motorway speeds.....
Have given up...!!! I just turn the radio on loud...sigh...
