Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Unfortunately due to a house refurb I need to sell my car however in the three years I have had the car I have not seen another 3.9 for sale so unsure what sort of level to price it so feedback would helpful! The car has done 84k miles and about 11k miles on the new engine

POST 2Original post

I think to achieve best money for that it should be SOR'd through 911 Virgin if its a no major accident C4S with FSH and lowish owners say up to 5. You'd maybe achieve 29,995k if its a minter with 25k being returned to you and balance to dealer. Privately up to 25k GBP ono if you can be bothered with the hassle. The engine a very good selling point can't have been cheap.

POST 3Original post

I think you will get more than that for it. I take it is a manual from the co2 output? (reg check) As IMA says, speak to 911 Virgin and Friends Green Porsche and see what they say. I reckon FGP would prep it to get it spot on and put it up at £39k. They have been getting £30-40k for regular, nice condition manual 4S coupes, depending on colour and mileage etc.

POST 4Original post

up to £40k incredible if correct. 911 Virgin just sold a mint 996 turbo with only 68k miles for £38,995. I see this car ten k behind that turbo tbh but with that Hartech 3.9 you may well be right!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes mine is a manual, with no sunroof, no parking sensors and rear wiper and centre console delete. Red belts, standard black leather seats. I have the standard decklid so could sell it with or without the GT2 style decklid. I will contact friends green, they have a 60k mile c4s up for £45k (it's yellow) Not expecting those sort of numbers!

POST 6Original post

I enquired with FGP when looking to sell my car and they basically wanted loads of photos then refused to make an offer I was not impressed as they could have least made a low ball offer but I felt they were just wasting my time to not make any offer

POST 7Original post

Does not surprise me one bit. Something does not quite sit right with fgp to me. Not sure why, just a feeling. Paragon on the other hand seem to be where it's at for good customer service and mint cars. I knew a guy once in Malton, he used to sell mint cars at strong money. He always made a right killing on cars. Apparently something wasn't quite right with him either.Hmmmm.

POST 8Original post

:floor: :floor: :floor: Now there is a bloke who needed a paddling, from the whole of Yorkshire. FGP and FZP aren't likely to be friends. It's never a clean sheet with these guys. Always something not right

POST 9Original post

😅😅 kiwk fit we call them in Sheffield 😉 Ps lovely car pal, it will find a good owner I'm sure 👍

POST 10Original post

£30-£35k. Anything above that and you can bag an half decent Turbo: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204330232132 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/285259230224

POST 12Original post

...£30k plus...values are on the rise for decent 996s...creeping up slowly until threads like this when the penny suddenly drops! ...remember the days when 996s could be had for peanuts; gone forever... ...mines on the drive while I wait for my newly painted garage floor to dry and its such a tight , taught shape ...absolute perfection to these eyes :worship:

POST 13Original post

When I was looking for a Gen2 996 C2, I saw the one at FGP with the new engine from Porsche. In the description, the car was described as in very good condition. I spoke to FGP and asked various questions concerning the bodywork, especially the front lower wings where they join the sills as they do rust if not kept on top of. They said there was no rust and the body work was in very good condition. The car was top, top money at 27k. So based on his answers, my wife and I hired a car, booked a hotel and travelled down, stopped over night ready to pick the car up the next morning. Got a phone call from FGP saying could they delay the hand over for an hour as they were still prepping the car. I thought this a little odd as I has put down a deposit over two weeks ago and they knew I was coming on that date. Anyway, arrived at FGP, nice setup and they pull the car out. First thing I notice is the wheel arches are full of grass (prepped, I think not). Then my wife notices that the front bumper is a different colour. Then I look at the lower wheel arches where they meet the sills. Black rust!! Then my wife points out a dent in the rear wheel arch. I look inside and it looks like a dog has chewed on the interior. At this point I'm about to go Nuclear, Luke comes out all smiling and says "what do you think"? I say, well Luke, I ain't buying that pile of sh@te, I'll have my deposit back please. So we trundle back up to Sunderland (in another hire car), £600 lighter in the pocket, thanks to a lying so and so. So, no I wouldn't recommend FGP. Flynn
