I am a die-hard manual transmission guy, but bought this with Tip in case of emergencies where wife needs to use the car (she cannot drive stick).

Looking at purchasing a 2.7 Tiptronic for my wife. She doesn't drive stick and only wants the Preferred Package Plus with no other options. I'd like any feedback any of you that own one might have on the motor/transmission combo as far as daily driver compatibility in town and on the highway. We have test driven the car and it seems great. Thanks!

Pavegeno, I have a new 07 CS with Tip Plus Preferred Pkg and I love it! It's a daily driver for me and I would haven't any other way. You will be surprised how fast you can do 85 even with the tip. :burnout:

The reality today is the tips are so good that you will be faster than in the manuals. I have a manual and enjoy shifting but I know I will nevere be good enough to be faster than a tip. Very small % of drivers are faster.

I have an '06 CS with Preferred Plus w/Tip. I am a die-hard manual transmission guy, but bought this with Tip in case of emergencies where wife needs to use the car (she cannot drive stick). I use the car as a daily driver and always have it in manual-shift mode. The computer shifts the car smoother and faster than we ever could! I'm very pleasantly surprised with how responsive it is. Downshifts are smooth and lightning-quick!
