Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The below pics are a first test, without the additional rounding.
Leading evidence: 'Test without the additional rounding' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Test without the additional rounding' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So okay, from many years ago when I originally had my 996 Turbo I always thought the front GT2 bumper vents/cut outs looked pretty neat. Obviously to do something similar to a stock bumper requires a fair amount of modification to fit a vent. I'd always wondered if a 3D printed overlay might provide a similar feel. Something that'd look okay but if one decided it was a bit naff could easily be removed (after all it'd just be fitted with some 3M tape). Anyway fast forward some years and dad who's now in his 80's decided he needed a 3D printer so he could print out some models for his G-scale railway. He then duly looked at me with an expectant gaze assuming I could design them up and print them for him. Luckily I quite enjoy doing that sort of thing so it's given me a good chance to get my head round the ins and outs of 3D design. So moving forward I thought I'd revisit the idea of a 3D printed grill for the 996. I had a few constraints around the design work so I've kept the first design pretty simple as a proof of concept and to test, before doing a few other variations on the design. On the next design I'll see if it's possible to move away from a diamond pattern to a couple of slightly angled slats. I am limited by a build area of 300mm x 300mm hence having to split into 3 pieces, and I've also kept the height minimal to 2.5mm. I thought I'd share a picture of the design below and am happy to take any and all abuse
They're still a work in progress and need a bit more tweaking. In the meantime I quite liked the look of the more modern shaped curved ones so I've also been having a play with these (see pic). I've just been working to make them a bit thinner and round the edges so the transition off the bonnet surface is more gradual and doesn't have a lip. The below pics are a first test, without the additional rounding. They'd also look better in gloss black. And funnily enough they seem to fit the bonnet shape of the 997 incredibly well as well. When I'm done I'll PM you ðŸ‘
