Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Set off' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Set off' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

500 mile trip from London to Lancashire and back in two days 5hs each way!. However, sitting on A roads 2900 revs 70mph, 4 and a bit bar oil pressure 80 degrees and 32.7 to the gallon....and great handling. I had totally forgotten what a great touring car it is and reminded me of what a compete package a 996 represents. What more can you want? My C2 is definitely a keeper.
Anyone for my 911S Targa?
 but your definition of 'touring' is a bit different to mine.
You'll find that a 911 is really in its element doing 400+ miles a day on Autobahns, cruising at 120+ and blatting through fast twisty forest roads.

Next time, maybe.
Although I love driving mine, I wouldn't call it great tourer, mainly due to large noise levels inside above city speeds, which are quite tiring after a while.
...agree with Alex...I never turn the stereo on mine, ever!
...and you can pack so much in them, great visibility, compact and easy to drive...perfect
Thanks for all the comments, I did not mean to suggest my trip to Lancashire was "touring"....it was actually to a funeral to put it in context. I do also admire the 911S but after a fraught journey, Biblical rain round Manchester, I was more than pleased to be in the 996, quiet, comfortable, dry and very able.
However I do admire the long distance motoring that has/is being done especially Alex's marathon. Mine has been limited to 20 year's worth of the California Mille Miglia, several Tours de France and 40 years worth of trips to the South of France. Not all in the 996 I have to add.
I chose the 996.C2 specifically because of the subtly and elegance of the design and the possibility of being able to work on the car myself. So far so good and I now believe that if I had to choose between the 911 and the 996 in the collection, the 996 would be it.
Look forward to hearing of Alex's safe return to Lancashire in 28hours.

NB: My tongue in cheek ribbing was initiated by the fact that I've just got back from a week in the Yorkshire Moors and the notion that my 550 mile return trip from Kent could be regarded as 'touring' tickled me.

This shows the all round capability of the 911, it can do everything (other cars can do some things much better) but as an all rounder very hard to beat.
