Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 2001 C2 Tiptronic is making a moaning noise. I don't use the car all of the time, and when I started using it at the beginning of the month after a lay up of 2 months there was this moaning sound, just like a pod of whales talking to each other. Then after a couple of days it stopped completely. now it has re-started but nowhere near as noisily as before. it seems to be something to do with the throttle, as you can get it to make the noises by pressing the throttle whilst stationary, and out of gear, as well as when the car is driving. Any suggestions please?

POST 2Original post

Have you got your aircon switched on? If so, try it without and see if it still does it.

POST 3Original post

As Alex suggests, sounds like may need a recharge / check for leak. Moan from compressor is normally most noticeable at 1500 - 3000k.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, 100% correct. A/C re-charge booked for tomorrow, thanks.
