Suggestion
Maybe the sensor in the seat is bad, or needs adjusting (if it's something that's adjustable, that is) to make it work right.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust (if it's something' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust (if it's something' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. I was getting ready to remove the seat to check the connection.

When my lady rides along, I immediately get the warning to check the passenger seat setting and the airbag disengages.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When my lady rides along, I immediately get the warning to check the passenger seat setting and the airbag disengages. She is in great shape at 110 lbs. but I really think that it is an issue to have the airbag not deploy in case of a frontal impact. Anyone else have the same issues?
Hard to believe that it would think 110 lbs. is a child... I would take it back to the dealer - with the young lady, if you can get her to go with you - and show them the problem. Maybe the sensor in the seat is bad, or needs adjusting (if it's something that's adjustable, that is) to make it work right. Do your homework too, and read over the section in the owner's manual that deals with the passenger airbag to make sure you know how it works.

Just read some more here on another thread...seems like with the seat all the way back against the firewall that the seat "lifts" and this error happens.......will have to take her for a ride tonight and test it out!
When my gf rides along, she sometimes wants to put the seat back to recline as much as possible. That will trigger the sensor. It isn't a weight issue at a 110lb of cargo; rather, it is the angle of inclination that would probably cause the airbag to not work correctly otherwise - hence the alert.
I tell anyone that wants to be 'more' comfortable that they are losing their safety zone.
I had the exact same problem, though it was associated with other computer problems (seat memory not working properly and keys not able to open the trunks). Dealer was stumped and got a new diagnostic CD from
Porsche
. My
Cayman
had 30 pages of error codes. Dealer re -programmed somethign and now everything works.

On 2 occasions, I got a passenger air bag warning, on the front computer display, both times a few minutes after a passenger got out of the car. Dealer checked it out and found no error codes, no faults. He asked me to monitor and note if it happens again. I'll check the seat/rear bulkhead contact. Any one else with a similar fault?
It all comes down to the back of the seat impacting the engine firewall and lifting the seat. You can recline if you move the seat forward. I have not had any problems once I moved the seat froward a touch.....!
sorry to bring this back from the dead...but my croc is hving the same problem...i've tried pushing the seat forward all the way so that it doesn't come even close to the wall...my girl friend is abour 90 lbs and she trips the airbag-off light all the time...anyone with any suggestions?
i would like to add that my passenger airbag off signal would just lit up out of nowhere and it just wont disappear by itself. any suggestions?

This has been covered elsewhere and in this thread. Move your seat forward. When the seat leans against the firewall, you will have issues like that. After it comes on, it will not go off unless you restart the car.
Bingo! I have reset this warning multiple times with my Durametric only to have the light come on again within a few days. When I checked the seat, sure enough it was pushed up against the firewall. Once I released the seat, the light went off. Thanks for the post. I was getting ready to remove the seat to check the connection.
