Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I’d rather not go to the hassle of taking the bumper off to replace the grills for now.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone, my 981 GT4 front grill is taking an absolute battering, presumably from stones while driving (images below). I’ve read that the paint here isn’t particularly hard wearing, has anyone touched this up themselves and has some tips they can share? I’d rather not go to the hassle of taking the bumper off to replace the grills for now. As for colour, most that I’ve seen online are a dark grey but mine are definitely black, not sure if this means the previous owner has already painted them? Seems strange some would be grey and other black from factory. Thanks in advance for any useful pointers.

POST 2Original post

I'm sure some simple back paint would do the job.
