Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

All it did was give me something to grip onto so I could pull the trim loose without using any implements to prise it out.

(I suppose this tells me to use the switch on the key doesn't it?)

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Porsche Club GB: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It stopped raining, I had a short journey to run, I started Ted and let him warm up (well, you like to don't you?), I hopped in, closed the door, leant across to the cabrio roof swith, pressed it and.. poop! the switch pushed backwards into the dash. It hasn't gone far but obviously I need to get the switch back into it's rightful place.[ ][ ] How much stuff do I have to remove in order to get my fingers to the back of the switch in order to push it back into place please? (I suppose this tells me to use the switch on the key doesn't it?)

POST 2Original post

Happened to me too. I got the trim out by taking the cigar lighter out, and put my thumb in the 12v socket for a bit of grip and gently pulled. It came out quite easily for me. Once the trim is loose you can push the switch back in place from the underside.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sounds almost like a line from a film but what you're saying is that you just hooked your thumb in there and pulled? It all went back okay?

POST 4Original post

For me it was easy. All it did was give me something to grip onto so I could pull the trim loose without using any implements to prise it out.

POST 5Original post

The best way is to get a butter knife under the bottom edge, and carefully lever it off.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A butter knife.... butter knife? [ ] Jus' kiddin' of course I were brung up reet wi' a silver 'un in me gob!
