Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Posting like mad today, but this is just a niggle really. I want to peel off the vinyl dealer sticker from the inside of the rear heated windscreen, but it overlays a couple of the heater elements which seem to be more surface mounted than embedded in the glass - Its seems well stuck and I'm concerned I might damage the elements. Anybody had this problem/got a suggestion for proceeding or at least could you give me some idea of the risk that might be involved? Cheers! J

POST 2Original post

Try heating it with a hairdryer to soften the glue before peeling it back. I think the heating elements are on the glass surface & I know from previous experience they are easy to damage. I had problems with mine on a previous car as I cleaned the inside of the glass with kitchen towel which was abrasive enough to break the lines.

POST 3Original post

You might think about getting the dealer to remove their advert at their risk.

POST 4Original post

+1 on the use of a hair dryer. When you have removed the sticker you can use WD40 and a soft cloth to remove the residue. Cheers,
