Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I think my x50 may not be a x50! No option code showing! Any x50 owners on here?
If this is correct how would I stand legally? It was advertised as having the x50 option.

Neil

X50 option entailed bigger (laggier) K24 Turbos. I think there was also an additional oil cooler somewhere IINM? X50 is basically the GT2 spec engine running slightly less boost to keep it at 450. The GT2 engine ran more boost running upto 482hp in Mk2 edition.
Panic over......

Firthy - welcome to the forum and congrats on your new car. For what it's worth, I bought my car (993 TT) assuming it had
no
power upgrade option, but found out later it does:
The X30 pack was added when the car was 18m old, by an OPC - so there is obviously nothing on the factory option sticker.
In this case the upgraded ECU came with an addtional sticker for the dealer to add to the handbook, to be stuck onto the factory option code sticker already there.
Since I had not even thought what the handbook sticker could be, the way I found out was from spotting the additonal oil cooler visible behind the front bumper, then on investigating the ECU, the absence of the cover plate / tamper-proof screws and the X30 option code / fitment date on the ECU itself.
all the best
tim
I read somewhere that the X50 pack couldn't be added as an aftermarket option (I am guessing this is just Porsche's way of persuading you do it up front, as you can always do these things afterwards ... it just costs more!).
My X50 (04 reg) boost reading 1.0bar unfettled when air was cool/moist. DMS ECU upgrade and DMS exhaust now boosts to 1.3bar in same conditions, approx 550bhp.
