Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I ran my 4S on a DynoDynamics dyno and it 'bucked like a bronco', this was with the dyno in 4wd mode where there is a 400bhp limitation.

Suggestion

For a 4wd Porker you 'do' need to disconnect the driveshaft to the front.

I ran mine on the trusted Weltmeister (used by EVO) dyno and Chris terminated the run for fear of damage to the dyno (and the car of course).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, does anyone know where I can get a 996 C4 rolling road done? Preferably near to west London... I've tried various people and it appears to be a specialist thing due the power split between front and back. Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Hi Stuart, cant help with your main request for obvious reasons Intrigued to find out how she does on the dyno. Subjectively how is the new system performing? Andrew

POST 3Original post

For a 4wd Porker you 'do' need to disconnect the driveshaft to the front. I ran my 4S on a DynoDynamics dyno and it 'bucked like a bronco', this was with the dyno in 4wd mode where there is a 400bhp limitation. On an Evo or Scooby this is usually fine but the viscous coupling/ABS/PSM on the Porker reacted too quickly for the dyno to adjust.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Damien, that's what I've heard, one tech guy even mentioned there's a possibility of the differential failing during the test! Doesn't dropping the drive shaft, so effectivelyt you're 2WD, effect the readings? Or is the reading related to the engine regardless of how the power is transferred to the road? Don't think there's any risk of breaking the 400bhp mark though, haha.

POST 5Original post

The 400bhp was in the dyno 4wd mode. The dyno didn't have that limit in 2wd mode Yes, what you've heard about the diff. failure is true, the viscous coupling heats up and 'could' go pop but it's unlikely on a short dyno test. What's more concerning is the bucking that the car did. I ran mine on the trusted Weltmeister (used by EVO) dyno and Chris terminated the run for fear of damage to the dyno (and the car of course). You are effectively running in 2wd mode so the transmission losses are as a 2wd car thus engine BHP can be calculated based on this.
