Do you mean clean the contacts on the removeable front panel or inside the unit itself?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Guys Before I start spending money can anyone offer any advice here? I have recently aquired a 2000 C4S - great car! In the 80's I owned a 944 which I upgraded to a 928 and was determined to come back to Porsches one day. I'm glad I did! The only problem I have is with the radio. I found that I can't make any changes to the settings - on/off, volume etc - until I flipped down the front panel and then pushed it back. The connections seem good but the same thing happens every time I use the car - if the radio is off and I want to turn it on then I need to flip the front down first. If it's too loud and I want to adjust the volume the same applies! Am I doing something wrong? Regards to all Trevor

POST 2Original post

Sounds like there is a fault tbh, better to upgrade to a Becker Traffic Pro High Speed Unit, same Porsche look with Sat Nav incorporated and a much better RDS Radio system

POST 3Original post

From memory, the front clips off the front of the CDR22. It sounds to me like you need to clean the contacts. Take it off and give it a clean with an alcohol cleaner and cotton bud.

POST 4Original post

2000 C4S is that possible? Carrera C4S launched September 2001 for the 2002 Model year. Can only be a facelift model glove box for example?

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry, it's a CR22 but I don't think that makes any difference! Do you mean clean the contacts on the removeable front panel or inside the unit itself? Regards Trevor
