If anyone here can recommend a good suspension tuning shop in the Bay Area that could fix all these issues for me, I would deeply appreciate it!

With this setup, do you think it'd be possible to run close to GT3 specs?

Suggestion
The point of adjustable LCA is to get negative camber over 1.5 degrees which is great for track cars running DOT R tires but no use for street tire cars.

Do you know if I'd be able to run the GT3 specs on the C2?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi, Rennlisters:
So I've had my Bilstein PSS10s installed on the 996 over 4 years now, and not until recently has it dawned on me that something was wrong with my suspension setup. I had just thought my 996 was not as stable as my other cars in comparison. There's a long banking turn I take everyday and for once I took out my Lexus CT200h to this very same turn, the hybrid took the aggressive turn calmly and easily, an easy 60mph turn. At the same turn with the 996, the car at the same mph exhibited an unstable "teeter totter"/tripod feeling, but somehow it never dawned on me till recently. Keep in mind, the wheels were aligned recently.
I was always unsatisfied with the exaggerated rake my installer had setup. To be clear, after the Bilstein installation I had two wheel alignments in the past 4 years. Jacked up the car to lower the rears to minimize the rake effect, then moved over to the fronts...the fronts were a mess. Based on measurements (that one bolt to the floor), my front ride height was lopsided. Now I have can't say if my installer set it incorrectly or if it somehow just sagged on one side more than the other over the 4 years, who knows...but I'm guessing it wouldn't sag that easily.
Long story short, I've spent the past few weeks adjusting it upwards and downwards with no success and I can't tell if the front coilovers are defected or not since the car is not leveled when both coilovers are on the same thread or ride height adjustment.
If anyone here can recommend a good suspension tuning shop in the Bay Area that could fix all these issues for me, I would deeply appreciate it!
In the event that there's a shop for the job, other than the ride height adjustment and alignment adjustment, what other services would I need? Any need for a corner balance?
Thank you all.

I'll give Custom Alignment a call. Thank you!
I've actually been to TC design for an alignment before, but since I'm OCD I would much rather every measurement be perfect to the t! Since they hand measure everything, I would think it's more difficult to be precise. Not taking any credibility away from TC, they are a great shop! And they moved farther away from me....
Pete:
Thanks for the reference sheet! Would you happen to have the GT3 specs as well? Do you know if I'd be able to run the GT3 specs on the C2?
Thanks buddy!
Not sure a C2 can be tweaked that far without camber plates and adjustable other suspension goodies seen on the GT3's. I would suggest you try the X74 settings.
By the way, what services should I be asking any shop for in my situation? Ride height adjustment and wheel alignment? Any need for a corner balance? Etc.?
Appreciate the input.
Not claiming to be an expert, but your teeter-totter issue might be related to bumpsteer. How much lower is your car at the moment? Do you know what you have the dampening settings at?
bobbyho:
Wish I knew, but I'm sure it's significant. It's by no means slammed at all. From a distance, the fronts are touching the fender and the rears are a small gap away from the fender.
There's only one **** setting on the PSS10, if that's the dampening setting, then I believe they are set at 5 clicks all around.
Say there was an issue with the bumpsteer, would an alignment or suspension related tune fix the issue?
Thanks again.
Side note: I came across your C4s on IG before, sweet setup!
+1 for Dave Graff, Director of Suspension at Borelli Motorsports. Just installed PSS10's and had him do ride height, alignment and corner balancing. I was "interviewed" for 15 mins on typical usage, style of driving, my weight, brand and model of tires. He was prepared to adjust the camber based on the brand/make of tires. The improvement from before to after was fantastic. Strongly recommended. He set up the PSS10's, 6 in the rear, 5 up front.

Thanks for the input, I'll go ahead and give Borelli a call as well. But I'm expecting something steep
Any of yall have more suggestions other than Borelli and Custom Alignment?
Thanks!
Sneaky Pete:
Didn't see this!
Before I take the car in for any adjustments, I was planning to have front lower control arms installed. I'm lowered with PSS10s and also got some adjustables at the rear. With this setup, do you think it'd be possible to run close to GT3 specs?
Before you spend money on adjustable stuff first you have to ask your self how and what do you use your car for. Gt3 specs calls more more negative camber as it will keep more of the tire patch on the road while turning. The negative is that it will wear out your tires more. You sound like you are doing more street canyon driving than using your car on the track. As far as I know you can get enough camber for most street use without lower control arms or camber plates. The point of adjustable LCA is to get negative camber over 1.5 degrees which is great for track cars running DOT R tires but no use for street tire cars. I would say you first should have a check if all of the suspension is in good working order including no worn bushings, ball joints, or shocks. If everything is good then your problem probably is in height adjustment first. Since you are having the height adjusted you probably should have it corner balanced since the labor charges would not be much more if your paying for the adjustment. I would suggest X74 height. As far as alignment tell the shop what are your use for the car. The X74 spec probably is best for a pure street car that cares more about daily driving and tire wear. If you're looking to be more aggressive and will to wear out the tires more I would suggest meeting the front to 1 degree negative front and 1.5 rear.
I think this ^^^ is a great answer. I would set your car to X74 specs and drive it. You might be very surprised with the outcome. If not well then the slippery slopes gets slipperier.
You're right, I don't foresee any track days with this specific car but I do appreciate the "track car" look, thus the interest towards a GT3 setup. I do agree with you that I should have those things checked out then have my ride height adjusted, then alignment. I just thought I'd might as well have the LCAs installed before all this so I would't need to pay an extra alignment cost. It's funny that you mentioned the street car specs......my fronts are currently around 2 and rears around 2.5......
With regards to corner balance prices...I've been quoted around $100 for inspection and around $200 for the adjustment, is this typical?! The same shop quoted me ~$130 for ride height adjustment and ~$260 for the alignment... What do yall think?
Regardless of any track time or not, this is my goal, with little less front camber

Don't think lower is better. Your extreme negative camber is from being too low. A suspension too low handles worse due to shocks and spring not working in optimal set up. Typically pss10 are at 30-40mm lower than stock. I usually get corner balance and alignment done for $325 for both.
