Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I’ve run F1s on various cars for donkeys’ years and not had a sidewall failure that I can remember.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have had my 987.2 Cayman 2.9 for just over a year and it came with these Goodyears fitted. In the last 6 months I have had large bulges appear in the sidewalls of one front and one rear tyre. In 50 years I have never previously had such a tyre problem. Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just a symptom of the terrible state of our roads?

POST 2Original post

I’ve run F1s on various cars for donkeys’ years and not had a sidewall failure that I can remember. I’ve destroyed three or four in impacts with potholes, rocks etc., but those hits have all been sufficiently hard to trash the rims as well.

POST 3Original post

I am a 992 Owner and had the problem once - caused by a pothole. Maybe Goodyears are more susceptable to such shock loading?
