checked the oil level last week and i noticed the oil was running slightly lower than normal , i topped it up to just over halfway , then noticed this week that the rear bumper had oil on it , i checked the oil level and it was low again , ive had the rms seal done already , also i checked the engine bay and topend looked clean and oil free , i looked under the car , and again it was oil free, no sign of oil in the exhaust outlet, then i checked the rear wheel arches and found oil on the exhausts either sides can anyone help or steer me in the right direction?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

What oil are you using? I bought a 996C4S this summer, it had recently had an oil change using Castrol Magnatec by the previous owner. My car was drinking oil and I was very concerned. I took it to JZ Machtech in Kings Langley - they checked it over and found no faults. They changed the oil for a higher spec Castrol Edge oil and now my car uses very little oil. What a arelief! I hope your problem is the same.

POST 3Original post

how many miles have you done since the last top up ?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

oil loss thanks guys for replying to my post My car is a 40th anniversary model, and loves to rev. I hope me revving it hard is not the cause of the problem The oil I'm using is Mobil 1, its been about 200 miles since last top up with no rattle from the engine, or bad sounds. Can anyone recommend a good independant garage in the West Midlands to go to Cheers Nick

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 7Original post

Nick, let us know what they find. Mobil 1 is definitely the right spec - could be an oil breather problem - nothing too serious, but it could cause the oil to blow. Good luck!
