I got them supply and fitted two weeks ago (also balanced for £215 each).

Agree, got both my rears changed together to prevent inbalance.

Suggestion
As mentioned it would be worthwhile to check the tread.

Suggestion
Must be same manufacture, same N rating and you have to change both tyres on the same axle UNLESS the "good" tyre has less than 30% of the tread worn, as I understand it!
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Just been out for a blast and during cool down within the garage I noticed a loud hissing noise coming from the rear of the car, it seemed to be underneath. Any idea what it could be, anyone else have any experience with this?
Regards,
Firthy
Wish it had have been, wouldn't have cost me £230! Should I change both back tires? the other one still has a load of tread on it. I managed to get the same new tyre anyhow same N rating the lot, I know thats important.

Agree, got both my rears changed together to prevent inbalance. But £460 does hurt a lot more then £230 for the single tyre.
As mentioned it would be worthwhile to check the tread. Was the punchure caused by an object (such as nail etc) or or "randomly" caused?
- Was there any uneven wear?
- If the latter this could point to inbalance and might be worth getting geo done.
I think Firthy mentioned his tyre profile cost £230 each. My rear profiles are 285/30/18. I got them supply and fitted two weeks ago (also balanced for £215 each).
Tyre: Michelin Pilot Sport N1 (Porsche)- 285/30 R18 Z
Blackcircles price is as follws (for supply only)-
£213.96 incl each supply (plus p+p) I think there £228 each for supply at fit.
Last time I checked I found the cheapest to be to be tyretrader.com for these tyres. supply price was £193.29 incl each and fitted cost £206.80 each, but ended up going with the indy (at £215 fitted) for peace of mind and as they was someone I could trust.
Sorry to hijack the thread!
Screw in the tyre, got exactly the same type. Other tyre has 6mm of tread so not bothered changing both. At the track on the 5th anyhow, so see what happens then.
Regards,
Neil
