Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

My old daily driver was an E46 330xi though before someone ran a stop sign and smashed into the side of it.

I used 3M vinyl wrap which I bought from eBay ($20).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've been a long time reader of these forums in my journey to purchase my first Porsche. Last weekend I finally pulled the trigger and bought this from a fellow Rennlister so I figured it was time to make an account. I've already got some ideas of things I'd like to do to the car but I'm interested to see what suggestions you guys have. What do you guys think are the best upgrades you can make to the C4S in any aspect whether it be reliability, performance, comfort, appearance, etc?
Bonus points if you can tell what my other car is!
Welcome and your new C4S looks great. AWD with all the S options make this Carrera a treat to drive. I run mine bone stock except for winter wheels and tires. Put oil in her and driver her like crazy. How many miles?

2004 C4S - Arctic Silver
2000 C2 - Ocean Blue (sold)
1986 Targa - Guards Red (sold)
Congrats and welcome!
As a daily driver, there are some modifications that you might prioritize for convenience. When I drove my 996 C4S every day, the following modifications were very nice:
- Auto-dimming rear view mirror with Homelink
- Double-DIN radio with navigation, Bluetooth streaming audio and telephone, and Sirius XM
- Updated key head, as shown above
- Fister sport exhaust (best modification, in my opinion)
- Wevo semi-solid motor mounts
- New HID headlight bulbs, coupled with headlight restoration from Dr. Headlight
There are many more modifications to consider, but these were all very nice in my daily driver.
Thanks everyone!
It has 132,000 miles on it, although the engine was replaced in '06 when the car had 42,000 miles on it so it has the larger 997 IMS bearing. It has 'PSE hack' partial muffler bypass pipes installed (sounds incredible), an auxiliary cable, and Paddle shifters. Yeah it's Tiptronic.
eSon was close! It's an E46 BMW 330i pre-facelift. I'll probably be selling it soon. My old daily driver was an E46 330xi though before someone ran a stop sign and smashed into the side of it. Great cars by the way.
I live in Indiana. That's the previous owner's plate on there which is why I covered the number.
I have a set but I was thinking about getting all-season tires like the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06. Anyone have any experience with these? I live in southern Indiana and I feel like we don't get enough snow to justify full blown winter tires.
Congrats on the new ride. I'm also in Indiana and have the conti DWS on as my cold weather tires.
These are not snow tires and will not perform like a true winter tire. That being said, they work very well in cold weather, even when the roads are wet. I would not trust them on my C2 in a snowstorm - but I have other cars for when the roads get salty and nasty.
The DWS are not performance tires either. It's almost laughable how soft and cushy they are compared to PS2's or even the Sumi HTR IIIZ's.
Thanks werfer, yours too
I used 3M vinyl wrap which I bought from eBay ($20). Spent about half hour per headlight - kinda of a rush job - to see if I liked the look. The wrap is also thick that even if you turn on the fogs that no light bleeds through the vinyl.
