Never mind new springs and new shocks was probably a good idea not to mention the M030 antiroll bars which definitely weren't on there previously!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've read enough to believe that pre-2002 Cabs should NOT be fitted with PSS-9s or X74 suspension due to body flex issues. That leaves me asking if the M030 kit is a worthwhile upgrade? Has anyone had this upgrade done on a similar car? Would be grateful for any wisdom you can hand down on this!

POST 2Original post

I've got the factory fitted MO30 kit on my 99 C2 cab weekend wonder. Lowers the body by 30mm and gives it a really purposeful stance and the wheels fill the arches nicely. Can't comment on the flex though, surely all cabs would suffer from flex anyhow (70% less rigid than the coupé is the figure i've heard) so the various suspension upgrades would have a similar effect?

POST 3Original post

Wonder if the later C4S and indeed Turbo Cabs had this M030 fitment anyway? ~ Maxie

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Tim. My understanding is that with a firmer setup, there is more grip hence higher forces acting on the chasis. M030 is less punishing than X74. Do you feel the M030 difference mainly on the track or is there some benefit on the road too? It's about 700 +VAT for parts and same again for labour (inc. geometry.) Sounds like a good improvement for the cost... 70% Maybe I should sell up and get a coup

POST 5Original post

can't say i've been on track... it is a firm ride but no more than i'd expect from a sports car, i have no real comparitor since this is my first 911 though...

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Tempted? http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=16371 I've only been once and really keen to back! Bedford is great for us 'learners'.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

M030 and a measuring tape? Before the car went to JZM I measured the distance from the bottom of the GT3 kit side skirts to the ground = 13cm. Also the shortest distance (vertical line) from the bottom of the wing arch to the alloy rim = 9cm front and back. I suspect this was pretty low to start with? The car came back with the new set up looking the same except at the back wheels arch was around 1 cm FURTHER from the rim = 10cm. I had gone with the M030 upgrade and the H+R lowering springs (hence have spare springs if anyone is interested). I know it's a Sunday and all but if anyone can be ar$ed mking those measurements on their car I'd be very interested and grateful

POST 8Original post

I've got the M030 too, 10cm rim to arch and 14cm skirt to ground....

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks dervish. Doh - I think I already had lowering springs on there...probably with the original dampers which could be why the ride was so harsh. Never mind new springs and new shocks was probably a good idea not to mention the M030 antiroll bars which definitely weren't on there previously! Has anyone managed lower than this?
