Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Man you are testing my memory but I "think" my 84 911 and my 80 911 had a switch around the interior lights somewhere.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Hi Guys i hope you guys don't mind me asking questions about some of the early models but its such an acurate way to get the right info. I'm strugling to get the boot light working, it works when i hook it up directly to the battery so its not the light . But i cant find the switch does any one no where it is. In the boot auto or on the dash somewhere. I'll happily pay for an 88 911 manual if anyone has one too. Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

Man you are testing my memory but I "think" my 84 911 and my 80 911 had a switch around the interior lights somewhere. Sorry I guess that wasn't much help.

POST 3Original post

If I remember the 80's correctly, the key needs to be in the ignition. But that was several Porsches ago ........

POST 4Original post

I tried it with the ignition on no luck and i failed to mention its a convertable so no interior light at least not one that i've found. If it makes any difference it started life as an American car LHD and is now RHD. If i could find the switch i recon i could get it working. Thanks for your help guys

POST 5Original post

It's been quite a few years since I had an '88 911, but is there a small on/off switch as part of the frame around the light cover? I also had a 911 that had no on/off switch for the boot light. When I wanted to keep the boot open for a long time, I just removed the bulb.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
