Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I checked my oil level this morning and found an amount of Yellow Gunge in the oil cap and filler neck. The oil in the sump is clean, according to the dip stick. Is this just condensation? Car is garaged every night but it has been below 0 degrees outside over the last few nights. I have owned the car for 14 months and have not noticed this before. Car does lots of short journeys and only around 15 to 20 miles per day.

POST 2Original post

Not a problem at all. It's normal, particularly if you're doing shorter journeys. Largely a symptom of having a long filler pipe. Nothing to worry about.

Ditto Just to put your mind at rest though: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/searchpro.asp?phrase=mayo&author=&forumid=18&topicreply=both&message=both&timeframe=%3E&timefilter=-365&language=single&top=300&criteria=AND&submitbutton=+OK +

POST 4Original post

Just to help put your mind at rest I had a ton of gunge last winter....nothing at all (clean as a whistle) through Summer....now back to gunge in the damp weather... OPC had a look and said 'normal'. Apparently the place to look if you are worried is the coolant overflow tank, if there is scum or an unusual colour in there it is worth getting checked!
