Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I spoke to Xanonex, who supply it to Porsche, and they said that the old time delay control should adjust the sensitivity.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust sensitivity' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Does the delay switch adjust the sensitivity as per the BMW one?

And I declare the rain sensor to be a Good Thing- well worth it if you use the car regularly in all weathers.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

During the 48k service yesterday at Wrightune, I had Tony fit a rain sensor. Typically, the weather is now set fair!
Anyone else had one fitted?
Are they any good? My only experience is from my BMW where it was essential. Does the delay switch adjust the sensitivity as per the BMW one?
I've got the Porsche retrofit one, and think it's very good. I spoke to Xanonex, who supply it to Porsche, and they said that the old time delay control should adjust the sensitivity. However, it doesn't on mine. Not that it worries me, because it seems about right to me. I leave the wiper switch to the sensor position all the time - it doesn't "unset" when you switch off the ignition as described in the Porsche instructions. The only snag with doing that is that when a bug hits the sensor it wipes the screen when it isn't wet!
What is approx cost of these ? Is it 996 specific or do they just wire into the wiper circuit?
Just had a rental VW Golf with one fitted and very impressed how it removes a total hassle from driving on a damp day.
It's the same kit for all Porsche models. It consists of a replacement wiper relay, and a sensor that attaches to the screen which plugs into the top of the relay. See:

Got one direct from Xanonex in Germany for 118 euros. E-mail Frau Hechler

Thanks - think I'll go for this - seems like a very cost effective upgrade. The Wrightune web site (UK distributor) specifically says it works on the 993.
Only slightly put off by how conspicuous the sensor looks from outside of car in their picture (

)
It was £140+VAT
The sensor's really very small and unobtrusive, you'd hardly notice it, and certainly not from the inside. If it really bothers you, you could get the integrated rain sensor and auto-dipping mirror, but I was quoted nearly £900 to retrofit! I'm happy to sacrifice a small degree of aesthetics for the sake of £750!
Still not rained yet...
