Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Were trackers standard on the 996tt? I am buying one at the weekend, private sale, and the seller says it doesn't have a tracker, but every other 996tt i have looked at has! If not, can anyone recommend a decent, approved, yet cheap tracker? Tracker Horizon seems to be a popular choice, insurance company said not to get a Tracker Retrieve as it is not recognised by a lot of insurers. What about other makes though?? Cheers

POST 2Original post

I wouldn't say they were standard but for insurance reasons alone most have at least a Tracker Monitor, my 4S had a Monitor and the GT3 has Horizon.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have booked it in for a Tracker Horizone, £310 inc. VAT fitted. Will probably just go for the lifetime subscription on one go, whether I keep the car for three years is another question, but will be another plus point to add to the advert when I sell!

POST 5Original post

Make sure you get a decent reduction on the insurance premium- not necessarily the case these days.

POST 6Original post

> lifetime subscription....but will be another plus point to add to the advert when I sell! It's only a lifetime subscription for the current owner and is non-transferrable. New owner will have to re-subscribe.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmmm, cheers for that. Did think it was to good to be true! Am I likely to keep the car for three years is the next question!

POST 8Original post

My insurance excepted a letter from Porsche confirming that the car's security system was classed at Thatcham category 1. Thatcham 1 security is apparently for UK spec. cars. Other country's do not necessarily get this standard of alarm and immobilizer. Richard
