Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

However is there a better longer term solution and for use when not at home - something to apply to the door window seal perhaps?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Everyone, Had a slight issue with our 98 C4 this week in the frosty weather. Each morning it has been difficult to open the doors - and even more difficult to close them because the window has not dropped the half inch or so with the door opening or closing. Each time I have freed it up by careful application of warm water to the window/door seal area and it is fine within a couple of minutes. However is there a better longer term solution and for use when not at home - something to apply to the door window seal perhaps? Many thanks, Brian
