Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I've just bought a Becker grand prix stereo to replace my standard fit radio, but when i plugged it in everything works fine but no sound, does any one know if you can reset them or am i missing something. any help will be appreciated before i send it back!!! cheers

POST 2Original post

Andy so you have an OEM Porsche Bose Amp ? As the AMP does cause a problem

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

how do i know what amp i have and where is it situated in the car, and what do i have to do next? sorry for the questions, but i'm used to normal car audio where it just lugs and plays!!!! cheers Ady

POST 4Original post

you can see the amp quite clearly in the front bonnet, above and behind the spare wheel (near the CD 6 disk).

POST 5Original post

If you Have the amp in the boot you have to swop one of the wires over. The becker unit and the old cdr 22(?) use a different wire to power the amp. If You havnt't figured this out yet and are still having problems let me know( I'm a bit late on this post) as I had the same issue with my Becker grand prix. If you look in the instructions for the Becker I think its pin 6. On the becker it drives a Sub, on the existing system it drives the amp. you have to connect the wire on the amp to the wire on the becker which supplies the power to the amp. like i said thats off the top of my head can look it up if you want!

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers alan, i got it sorted with exactly what you have said, just remove black/red wire and join it to the white, Hey Presto just need the ipod connector now!!!!
