I've been meaning to ask for a while. Is the glove box lock tied into the car's overall locking system with doors? I know opening the box door with car locked does trigger alarm, but I guess I just assumed the box locked with the rest of locks as some other open cars do. Mine does not lock without use of key. Seems like a stupid question after 9 years of ownership. 2010 Boxster. Thanks

That actually surprised me since BMW had that feature starting with the E36 convertibles.. look the doors with the key and the glovebox was automatically locked.
