I had the same symptoms with my battery; after a voltage drop test was performed along with checking the alternator everything was fine, but the car still had starting hesitation especially after reaching normal operating temp.

the battery tested "good" when they put the stress test on it c.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

What I found most interesting about this is even though the battery still tested "good" and was under a year old, and even though it left our home in a "fully charged" state even doing an around town start/stop trip would deplete the battery.

Although some vehicles may accommodate a battery from more than one group size, it is important that you use a battery approved for use in your vehicle.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

When I purchased my '03 C4 Cab last February, I was told the battery had been replaced in December. Sure enough, the little scrape off areas showed the battery installation in 12/14.
However, I noticed what I considered slow cranking. And I routinely keep the car on a battery tender. But even with a full charge (the battery tender light shows continuous green), I continued to notice slow cranking - especially if I made a few stops on each trip.
So today, with winter coming on and the likelihood this car is going to be a daily driver, I visited the local Batteries Plus Bulbs. They put meters on the car and said a. no worrisome draws while the car is off, b. the battery tested "good" when they put the stress test on it c. the charging system was putting out the requisite amount of wattage. Last, d. the battery was undersized. It was a group 7 (whatever that means) while the car is supposed to have a group 49 (again no idea what that means) battery.
So in went a new Duracell Group 49.
What I found most interesting about this is even though the battery still tested "good" and was under a year old, and even though it left our home in a "fully charged" state even doing an around town start/stop trip would deplete the battery. Funniest of all, as I pulled into the battery shop, and they asked me to re-start the car, the car would not start. Cranking was so slow as to "fail" to start the car.
With the new fully charged battery, the car cranked about three times faster than the old fully charged battery.
I've always understood "cold cranking amps" is an important spec for a car operating in cold climate, here is relatively mild Seattle, even on a 42 degree day, a few around town trips made the undersized battery unworkable.
I just bought a new battery for my car last week. Same symptoms - slow cranking and finally a failed start. I searched on Advanced Auto Parts website and was shocked by the variety of battery sizes and CCA ratings shown as an exact fit:
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...hedFrom=header
In the end, I went with the highest CCA rating (850 CCAs vs 730 for the lowest rated exact fit). It was size "H7". Price was $203, but I had a 20% off coupon that dropped it to a reasonable ~$160. I helped the kid who worked there to install it. It was significantly larger than the battery that it replaced. The car cranks really fast now.
I had the same symptoms with my battery; after a voltage drop test was performed along with checking the alternator everything was fine, but the car still had starting hesitation especially after reaching normal operating temp. Kinda embarrassing when refueling and the engine won't turn over - I sometimes would have to wait 5 to 10 mins and the car started normally again.
Checked for corroded cables and everything was fine. Finally decided to replace the battery since its the most economical first step...voila! problem solved.
Also, my battery was Group Size 94R Bosch Platinum AGM.
Battery group size: This refers to the battery size that will best fit the physical dimensions, terminal locations and type required for your vehicle. Group size is typically based on your vehicle’s make, model and engine type. Although some vehicles may accommodate a battery from more than one group size, it is important that you use a battery approved for use in your vehicle.

I just installed the same battery KC. My old battery died completely and it was only 2 years old. Go figure. 850CC H7 AQM style. The car accepts an h6 or h7.
I found the H6 was barely touching the sides, but with the extra inch of the H7 I stick my key in and crank her three times...done.
Yes, more CCA may help but be sure you have not got a high resistance somewhere in the large cables between batt and starter motor. "Oh but the cables look fine" you say. I suggest you do the real inspection - slit the insulation on the cables at the battery and carefully peel it off the conductors.Look for white powder and corrosion. If good ,carefully tape up the cable ends and inspect again in a few years :-). SAme test at the starter motor.

Suspect you still have a problem...
The battery tender (2 Amp?) was/is able to restore the battery to a charge level sufficient enough to crank/start the car but the alternator/VR cannot.
Either the charging system is not working properly, most probable, or you have to much running load.
PS: I NEVER use the "standard" Porsche battery, today's design improvements allow a smaller, lower weight battery.
