Also there's a bit of scuffing off to the right (which wasn't there when I bought it, so I suspect someone has kindly 'kissed' it when it was parked up somewhere which of course might have bought it to the fore if the bumper flexed (grrr!).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Noticed a little bit of crazing and cracking appearing around the centre of the front bumper on my C2. I know the bumper was re-sprayed before I bought the car - the cracks are thin and longitudinal - just wondered if this is typical of an age problem with the GRP bumpers, or whether it might just be a crappy respray? Also there's a bit of scuffing off to the right (which wasn't there when I bought it, so I suspect someone has kindly 'kissed' it when it was parked up somewhere which of course might have bought it to the fore if the bumper flexed (grrr!). Any views or experience in this area appreciated. J

POST 2Original post

Im afraid the kiss has probably re awakened the damage, its all repairable by a good bodyshop,

POST 3Original post

They aren't GRP. They are a polyeurethane material, mainly PMMA, which doesn't craze like GRP. Even a really good paint job will crack as you describe with a bump. The bumper will flex back into shape if it isn't too big an impact, but the paint is a lot mure brittle.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
