Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Dealer will do the porsche warranty. Opinions please ?

POST 2Original post

Sounds fair price if from dealer, are the tires and brakes (discs and pads) new or relatively new? If not knock of a couple of grand off if they need replacing soon.

POST 3Original post

Sounds bang on the money to me for a great spec 996 with lowish mileage to boot too. If you like it, and it passes a PPI, I'd go for it! ~ Maxie

POST 4Original post

And everyone knows that Arctic Silver Porsches are the fastest ones anyway 8)

POST 5Original post

Hi and welcome to 911uk, The car you talk about sound like it has a good spec (for resale, and your enjoyment) good colour, and the price seems ok too. I would try and bid the owner/dealer down as its a quiet time of year in sales. Get a PPI done and enjoy. Dan

POST 7Original post

Nice - BUT at that price you are into C4S range and that might be worth looking at as perhaps a better buy ?? Take a look in 'for sale' here and also on Piston Heads and filter C4S between £30K & £40K....

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Normally 50-60k miles though.

POST 9Original post

I think it looks on the expensive side, although as has been a good spec which will be beneficial come resale time.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Scott, Does it help if I mention the following. RMS done Aug 2006. New pads and dics Aug 06, (It only did 5k last year). New tires all round. Just serviced by porsche. 111 point check, then warranty (included in Price). May I also mention I did get quiet a reasonable trade in. All this adds up in my mind.

POST 11Original post

One thing that would worry me is for a few £1k more your in 996 C4S land.. This is the way I would go !

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

To get get a good one with low miles 30-40k and a nice spec still £39-40k !
