hi all noobie here. I have an unusual problem with my 2005 987
Boxster S
passenger door mirror function. My issue is that it will operate momentarily then stops, only re operating when I have switched the ignition off then on after a few minutes. I have swaped the adjuster switch and have stripped and tested the door mirror motor assembly. The actual motor is fine when operated on the bench as it moves in all directions with no issue when driven by an external power source. The mirror is the memory type as fitted with the electric memory spotrts seat option. I am wondering if there is a control unit fault but cannot find anything that describes what the front control module, or main control module actually do. Is there a door mirror module?? any suggestions woul dbe appreciated. cheers.
If you had access to a Durametric, you'd be able to see whether there is an electrical fault being thrown which would help track down the source of the problem.
Hi yes I have read the codes and get 8015 mirror adjust limit value. It can be reset but as soon as the mirror stops moving again the code returns.
I have a similar issue. My passenger mirror can move horizontally, but if it attempts to move vertically (such as tilting down for reverse) then it stops working completely.
Motor was at fault after all. new motor fitted any all good.

Rick ... I'm having the same issue, even now in 2025.
In your reply, you detailed that you tested the passengers motor on the bench and it moved in all axis?
You then exchanged it for a 'new' motor and it 'cured' the issue?
I'm puzzled to see what the difference is between the old and new motor is, as they both work?
Please advise
