Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Although they were factory fitted they too have the small gaps you talk about but IMHO it's not that bad.
Leading evidence: 'Install they too have the small gaps you talk about' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install they too have the small gaps you talk about' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Has anyone bought/fitted any of the sideskirts for a 996 from Fleabay ??
If so, is the quality any good or does anyone know a better place to get some and cost if possible !
I suppose genuine Porsche are very expensive ?
Also, do the skirts look silly without the correct bumpers/spoilers ?
Opinions please guys.
I looked at a few cars with only the side skirts on and I didn't think they looked odd without the bumper or additional GT3 kit.
Although they were factory fitted, everyone I saw had a gap between the skirt and the main body the closer it got to the rear wheel, which made it look very Halfords IMO.
If it aligns perfectly, then it would look good, but even the OEM ones looked a bit of a Corsa-clip-on, if you know what I mean.
Yeh, I can`t make my mind up if I like the look or not.
It`s just the only part of the exterior that is not smooth and somehow always looks dirty, if you know what I mean.
Are there any good aftermarket solutions to the front bumper or does it have to be a Porsche original for fit and look ?
Steve
Still can`t make my mind up. There are none on there with just the side skirts so you can`t see what it would look like without the deeper front bumper.
TBH, I don`t think Lapis lends itself to the GT3 look at all but just wanted to clean up the lower sides of the car.
Wonder if anyone has had the lower sills smoothed and painted ??
Steve
Steve, I've just got the side skirts which were factory fitted. I didn't want the full aero kit but felt it gave the car a slightly more squat stance than completely without.
When I was looking I found plenty with the full bumper, skirts and wing kit and then saw this one. It just looked more subtle and stood out because of it. I did think about putting the GT3 front on when I had the PU replaced and resprayed but decided against it in the end. I just prefer the look but don't ask me exactly why, just one of those things, it's all subjective...
Although they were factory fitted they too have the small gaps you talk about but IMHO it's not that bad. Certainly not worth spending more money on to get it rectified.
Yeh, it looks ok Dervish. Don`t necessarily think the front is needed.
Still wondering what the original sills will look like smoothed and painted though.
Steve
My seal grey 996 has the factory side skirts but normal bumper and no rear spoiler. I like it a lot. Slightly meaner and lower look but not too aggressive.
Ill try and attach a picture of an identical car to mine (except for the wheels) which put me onto the idea.
> I don`t have an endless budget
I don't think anyone does on here either!
The 996 engine sounds awesome, but really breathes with the PSE. I am sure someone has a sound clip.
There's loads of 996 locally (I think it's the Porsche capital, with Cheshire in 2nd place!) and the ones equiped with a PSE really stand out.
