Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi I have owned my 996 C2 for about 2 months now, apart from the RMS going I have had no problem s. But I took a long trip down to Devon and back about 400 miles and the weather was very wet. When I returned the passenger floor area carpets were soaking wet through. Has anybody experienced this before or got any ideas on what it could be before I take it into a garage... Thanks! Fitz

POST 2Original post

Sorry to hear of the leaky prob. Obvious candidate would be to ensure that the plastic membrane in the door trim has been replaced properly (it may have been taken apart to fix locking, window etc). Other than that, usual suspects i.e. blocked drain holes, or dodgy door seal.

POST 3Original post

Welcome Fitz, seals round the door or window maybe? the Zymol seal replenisher makes your seals a tighter fit.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

great thanks Robert and Tim will take a look Fitz

POST 5Original post

as robert says drain holes can be a real possibility. The ones for the sunroof on my golf were blocked earlier this year and leaked in from the roof lining. Saved showering until i figured it out....

POST 6Original post

Have you considered that your passenger may have had, ahem, control problems?

POST 7Original post

no, my incontipants were still locked down so i ruled that one out quite soon

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

she did enjoy the drive and was excited but not that excited

POST 9Original post

I may be talking absolute B******s but there aren`t any drain holes in the floor panels that may have been dislodged are there. I`m unsure if it`s the same with Porsche but previous cars I have owned had one or two drain plugs in the floor panels.......... perhaps it was the older ones. Or even worse...........holes in the floor that aint suppoosed to be there
