Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I didn't order the nav. What goes in the space where the navigation screen is? I don't remember from the Boxster's I tested and it is too far to my dealer to go look.

POST 2Original post

Not much actually, the panels for the HVAC system and sound system occupy that space in the non-nav equipped dashes. I'm a little disappointed that the nav screen is located that low in the center console. Plus, I think if I'm going to get a nav system it'll be portbale so I can place it in whatever car I find myself in (my wife's, a rental, stolen . . . ; -)

POST 3Original post

The main reason I ordered the navigation (this may sound silly) is because I think it is a much cleaner, smoother look on the center console. Without the nav screen and system there are what appear to be dozens of knob, levers and switched that to me are very annoying and the display looks cluttered. This is just a personal preference. What do the rest of you think?

POST 4Original post

Well with Nav you actually have a lot more buttons total, so it really comes down to personal preference and $ spend. There should be pictures of either center stack floating around the articles or images sections here.

POST 5Original post

Yea, but I have the same Nav on my Cayenne and know exactly how it works. However my Cayenne is CD based which is a pain in the $^%$%. The Nav on the Cayman is DVD based with the unit under the front seat and no CD to insert when you use the Nav system. A much better system.
