Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

gnat, as much bitchin' as you did at me for selling without telling you, I fully expect you to send Gator a check right away.

It could use a front bumper respray from track sandblasting.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Well folks, it's been a good run but I am sadly yet excitedly leaving the 996 world. I just purchased a Cayman S with every option I wanted. It took a long time to find but now she's mine.
I will be putting together an ad for my Guards Red 996 very soon. Not sure if I will just toss it in eBay to toss it quickly or not. If anyone is interested in a stellar performing DE/Street car, hit me up. Price will be very non threatening.
I will still pop over here for my daily forum awesomeness as nobody does it like you guys!
Thanks JayG. I will check out the 986 forum.
My avatars will still appear here Gonz as my Cayman still has an IMS. I need to come for for the expertise on the matter.
Nice car you've added to the stable. But, you ain't going anywhere.
If I was still looking for a turbo, I'd have dropped the search and just bought your car. If I had the $$, I'd buy your 996 in a heartbeat right now. But, if I did that, I'd need your wife's divorce defendin' services.
Your last 996 that you sold a couple of years ago, I thought was a great deal for the buyer. You've got a little bit of groovzilla in you in that sell low so you don't have to screw around with tirekickers as opposed to someone who is looking for top dollar. So, if anyone is keeping an eye out for a 996, watch for Gator's car because it probably won't be on the market long.
Don't need another 996.
Don't need another 996.
Don't need another 996.
I'd say you have a $30k car there Gator. Yeah. That'll keep me out of the market for it. $30k sounds good.
gnat, as much bitchin' as you did at me for selling without telling you, I fully expect you to send Gator a check right away. If not, I'm going to call bullsh!t and start referring to you as "Blswan".
Heh. I did already PM him
We actually talked a few months ago when he made noises about selling. He was thinking of asking for what I think was/is a decent price, but it's outside of my "fvck it, why not?" budget.
If he is going to sell it considerably less than what it is worth I may indeed want to be a player
Would have to paint it though
Congrats! Nice car too! The sport button is a blast on my 997. But like me you will find it hard to remove yourself altogether from the best forum on RL.
Thanks Jeff. This model was the next logical step after two 996's, two 944's and a 928. Next stop is the 991 GT3 in about 29 years.
I will definitely forgo a major profit over a quick and painless sale of Big Red. It's been a great car that I will miss dearly.
And no, I ain't going anywhere.
Just to stir the interest and get those $30k offers rolling in 😄
99 MK1 aero, guards red. Unique that instead of the standard bulbous side skirts, it has Tech Art skirts and front bumper.
Full leather interior with red deviated stitching and red seat belts. Porsche Techquipment roll bar installed, no longer available from Porsche. Alcantara steering wheel and shift gator. Otherwise standard interior, all factory. FVD deep dump kit and baffle. LN spin on oil filter adapter. The exhaust is from a 99 European only GT3. It sounds amazing! ROW M030 suspension installed by Brumos. Wheel spacers all around which brings them out even with fenders. Good stance, no rub.
Car has been dealer serviced at Brumos for many many years. I do my own oil changes and brakes though. Brand new AC compressor, lines and drier with a lifetime parts and labor guarantee from Brumos. Did that a few months ago. New left front wheel bearing. New pulleys and serpentine belt service just completed at Brumos. New factory spec motor mounts just installed.
Car has been involved in DE's most of its life. Previous owner is a good friend and DE instructor. It is great on track and street. Handles like a dream.
It won't win any concours but it looks good. It could use a front bumper respray from track sandblasting.
The leather headliner has two tears from the rollbar install but it doesn't bug me. I just haven't got around to replacing it.
Car runs strong with no leaks. Original dual row IMS. Car has 113,000. Porsche outdoor car cover fit for an aero included. It's fits snug as a bug.
Sadly, their implants are worth more than my car but surely a lot more fun to play with. I will let you guess which one has the implants. It's a trick question.
Ok. Let's see what the math says.
996.1: $15k
Litronics: $500
Sunroof: -$300
C4: $3000
Taco: $3000
TechArt: -$1000
DRIMSB: $1000
>100k: $500
Sump/baffle: $500
Other mods: wash
Known track performer: $1000
Hideous color that must be painted over: -$10k
Pulling numbers out of your ***: Priceless
Though if you do want to sell it for $13k-ish I'm your man
Just to toss some gas on the fire, I just bought a 99 red aero with M030, 220, 222, 224 codes tan int draped leather, 85k miles, with FOUR SPOKE wheel(lol) for $16k.
(runs, hides in shame, another thread killed)
Oh yeah, thanks!
Gator, does it have a 3 or 4 spoke wheel? If it's a 3 that'll knock another $1000 off the value!
What the hell, let's round to an even number and say $10k. That work for you?
Take care, Gator! It was great meeting you at Amelia Island a couple of years ago. Good luck on the new ride and keep the shiny side up! We'll still be looking for your avatars!
Hit me up if you ever get over to Pensacola and I'll do the same if I'm in your neck of the woods
GLWS Gator. I just posted it up on the Craigslist thread over on the turbo forum. You never know where a buyer will come from.
Question - You've got a picture of a racing seat for the driver's side, but in the description it sounds as if it comes with stock seats. What will it come with for a driver's seat?
Congrats on the Cayman, Gator. And please do stick around as you have the best profile picture(s) on the web. Maybe you can update the photo and visit us every week??? Please?
